The Call to Overcome...Paul wanted deliverance out of his situation and God reminded him that His grace is available for Paul right where he is at(2Cor12:9). When things get tough, the easiest thing to do is just walk away. Instead of walking away from something, God will empower you right where you are at. I have a silver lab named Asher who is about a year old and 92 pounds. Yes, he loves food. Last summer I put him in the water and he did not like it. His face said, “Get me outta here!” What he didn’t know, was that he has a fatty layer that insulates him from any adverse condition (wind, rain/water and cold). Labs also have webbed feet which makes swimming effortless. I would not let Asher come ashore, but made him swim long enough so he understood that he was equipped for the environment I placed him in. Now, Asher will flourish in any body of water and will swim regardless of weather conditions as he knows he is equipped for it. 2 Pet 1:3-9(paraphrased) says Gods power has given us everything we need through His precious promises for living a godly life by knowing the One who promised and called us. Therefore, MAKE EVERY EFFORT to confirm your CALL and ELECTION. For if you do these things, you will never stumble. This means that we have to check to see that we are standing in the place where we are called. If we are, then God will equip you in the place he has called you. God reminded Paul that He called Paul and He equipped him with power right where he was at. He just needed to get his focus off the negative and turn to the grace of God and realize he was created to flourish in adverse situations as the call and favor of God was on his life. Submitting to God qualifies you for the grace of God as His power is always made perfect in your weakness. Be blessed. PG
