Sakya Monastery of Tibetan Buddhism

Sakya Monastery provides a place to learn Buddha’s teachings from highly qualified Tibetan Lamas in a beautiful traditional setting.

On Wednesday, January 11th, the Monastery observed the Memorial of Sakya Pandita.

At 1:30 pm this Sunday, Tulku Yeshi Rinpoche will give a Dharma lecture entitled "Teaching of the 12 Deeds of Lord Buddha." Please join us for this event!

Little bird visits H.H. Jigdal Dagchen Sakya Dorje Chang's pho...

While H.E. Khöndung Asanga Sakya Rinpoche was doing his prayers, a little bird flew to the altar in his room where it lingered in the presence of H.H. Jigdal Dagchen Sakya Dorje Chang’s photo and robes wrapped in khatas. H.E. Asanga Rinpoche took the video of this auspicious moment in Manali, India, and wished to share it with the Dharma community!

This Sunday, 1/8/17, we will offer a class on "Understanding the Sunday Chenrezi Practice" at 8:30 am. If you are new to our community, this is a great way to learn about the primary practice at Sakya Monastery. After the 10 am Guru Puja, we will also be sharing a special teaching on "The Joy of Giving" by H.E. Khondung Avikrita Sakya Rinpoche via video at 11 am. We hope to see you here at the Monastery this weekend!

Office of HHJD Sakya and Phuntsok Phodrang

Sakya Monastery wishes to invite you to a special teaching on the Joy of Giving by our Head Lama, H.E. Khöndung Avikrita Sakya Rinpoche, offered via video at the Monastery on Sunday, January 8th, following our 10am Guru Puja practice. This timely teaching is thoughtful, humorous, and beneficial to all community members. Many young monks from the Sakya Heritage Foundation are also featured in a charming skit section of the teaching!

This is the fourth video teaching that H.E. Avikrita Rinpoche has offered to the Monastery community. You may view the first three at http://www.sakya.org/office-of-hhjd-sakya-and-phuntsok-phodrang.
