Church ‘Love Notes’ Transform Fence into ‘Holy Place’

Continue to be amazed by the way some simple words written on white strips of cloth could've had an impact on so many. Paul Corner, pastor of First Covenant Church, said the community reaction has been “overwhelming and positive” […]

The ribbons in the pictures are notes of love written by our church and neighborhood community following the election in November.

Let's keep spreading the love!

PLEASE TAKE A RIBBON for yourself if you need the words of hope, solidarity and encouragement. PLEASE TAKE SOME FOR YOUR FRIENDS if you know someone who may need these words.

And stop by the new community wall to write/draw your thoughts on the following questions (centered around the four words of the season of Advent):

What do you HOPE for?
Where have you seen PEACE recently?
What brings you JOY?
How have you experienced LOVE recently?

Holiday Potluck Fun Night (2016-12-15)

For you crafty types...The Capitol Hill Tool Library, which rents out our space in the Summit building, is hosting a potluck tonight! Gina, the creator of the Capitol Hill Tool Library, once came to speak in one church service and let us know more about the great things the Tool Library offers.
This potluck is a great way to meet some neighbors and make fun things! They are making some games available to attendees tonight as well as their 3D printer! It is from 6:30-8:30pm. Here is the link to the event page:
Should be fun! Join Sustainable Capitol Hill for a Holiday Potluck Party. Come meet your neighbors and have fun. We’ll have some games out as well as the 3D printer. Mmm, hot Cider. Don’t miss out. You’ll have the opportunity to talk about any cool things you are working on.

Join us for the Christmas morning service on December 25th to worship the God who became human in our mess out of deep love for us and all of creation.

We are going to do something fun this year as Christmas falls on a Sunday morning...we encourage anyone and everyone to come in ugly Christmas sweaters or festive Christmas pajamas! The staff and families (minus a few!) are modeling some examples in the pictures below...
